We then stepped up and said we would do 8,000 km-the confidence stemming from the fact that we were able to achieve as much as 7,800 km. In the last year or so, there hasnĂ´t been much of a response in the market, partly because the economy had slowed down, and partly because there were some problems involving major players.

India identifies 73 key roads along China border
For construction of roads along the China border, Indian government has identified as many as 73 roads as strategically important. Out of the 73 roads, 19 roads measuring 440.74 km are in Uttarakhand, Union Defence Minister A K Antony told the Lok Sabha on December 17.
