Roads and telecommunication facilities at Bumla, the last Army post in Tawang district of Arunachal Prdesh, bordering China located at 17,000 feet, needed to be improved. The State Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has assured the Indian Army in the area to take up the matter with the Union government and press for the facilities.

West Bengal gets 421 rural roads under PMGSY
The Union Rural Development minister Jairam Ramesh has said that his department has finalised funds for 421 roads covering 1,887 km in West Bengal. The State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had written to the Prime Minister about norms being flouted by the Centre in allotment of funds to states.
Repair to key road in Imphal ahead of Sangai fest
In Imphal, the Manipur government is planning to revamp the roads around Palace Compound ahead of the Sangai Festival. The government said that process for construction of Sanjenthong bridge would start once designing of the bridge is completed.
Bangalore roads to get a facelift at Rs 908 cr
Bangalore city roads will get a face-lift at a cost of Rs 908 crore in the next few months, said the Chief Minister SiddarÂamaiah. He stated this after laying the foundation stone for a grade separator on West of Chord Road in the city.

Kerala gets Rs 174 cr Nabard aid for roads
To build 23 roads and four bridges in Kerala, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 174 crore to the State Public Works Department (PWD), said the Kerala PWD Minister VK Ebrahim Kunju. Nabard sanctioned the sum in Mumbai recently.
Odisha plans to build 4,227.69 km rural roads
Odisha government has submitted the Centre a project proposal of Rs 2112.72 crore and Rs 595.72 crore for construction of 4,227.69 km of roads and 140 bridges respectively under the Pradhanmanthri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) in the current 2013-14 financial year.
Nashik civic body to concretise 11 main roads
In Nashik city of Maharashtra, 11 selected roads with heavy traffic density are to be concretised to reduce maintenance works and increase travel comfort on the roads. The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has undertaken the process for concretisation work on the 11 roads.
Rs 100 cr needed to repair Kolhapur roads: PWD
In Maharashtra's Kolhapur district, the recent rains have damaged 850 km of roads. Now the Public Works Department (PWD) has estimated a requirement of Rs 100 crore to repair the roads. The roads in rural areas of the district's western parts have been badly damaged.
Hyderabad civic body sets Oct 10 as deadline to repair roads
To repair potholed damaged roads in Hyderabad-Secunderabad twin cities, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has set a deadline of October 10 for its engineers and contractors concerned. GHMC has estimated the repairs to cost Rs 15 crore. Forts it will take all the main corridors and main city roads immediately for the repair works. Later, inner lanes and by-lanes will be taken up.
