Under the governmentĂ´s Skill India mission, oil PSUs have initiated skill development initiatives for unemployed youth. Oil PSU members, viz., HPCL, IOCL, BPCL, ONGC, OIL, GAIL, EIL and Balmer Lawrie have come together to set up a Skill Development Institute in Visakhapatnam (SDI-Vskp).

The focus should heavily be on skilling, re-skilling and up-skilling of labour resources. In order to grow and make campaigns like Ă´Make in IndiaĂ´ a success, the industry needs access to talent that is Ă´job readyĂ´-talent that needs minimal or no training when recruited for a particular role.
