Iron ore traffic, including pellets, at major ports saw a sharp fall of 28 per cent in financial year 2015-16 as imports declined because of weak demand. Total iron ore cargo fell to 13 mn t from 18 mn t a year ago.

ER achieves record freight loading

Paradip port posts 33.13% growth in traffic
Paradip Port Trust (PPT) has posted a 33.13 per cent growth in traffic throughput at 34.12 million tonne (mt) in the first half of the current fiscal (April to September 2013-14) from 25.83 mt in the corresponding period of last fiscal.
Container traffic dips in Seattle, Tacoma ports
The combined container volume of Seattle and Tacoma ports in August was 2,96,28,920-foot-equivalent units, declining 5.5 per cent from 313,602 TEUs in August 2012, say media reports.
