The Union government has given its ‘In Principle’ clearance for rail connectivity to port of Astranga in Odisha. This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha on Decembder 12.
Karnataka gets Rs 1,299 cr to construct rural roads
Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, the Union government has sanctioned Rs 1,299 crore to Karnataka to build rural roads. This has been conveyed by the Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Infrastructure output in Oct down by 0.6%
The Union government's data on December 2 showed that country's infrastructure sector output fell 0.6 per cent year-on-year in October mainly on lower natural gas and coal production, after growing at its fastest clip in one year the previous month. Output grew at 8 per cent in September.
