Agra airport to get a new terminal
The Uttar Pradesh government has given nod for acquiring around 50 acre for constructing a new terminal at Agra´s Kheria Airport. The state government has sanctioned Rs 60 crore for the land acquisition, though farmers´ bodies have been demanding compensation at the prevailing market rates. The district authorities have been advised to negotiate one-to-one and speed up the acquisition process so that work can start before the Lok Sabha polls.
Hindustan Power embarks on major investment plan
Hindustan Power Projects, formerly known as Moser Baer Projects, is embarking on Rs 32,000-crore investment plan to have 5,300 MW of capacities in its portfolio in the next three years. The Delhi-based company has already made an investment of around Rs14,500 crore across its projects in solar, coal-thermal and hydro power, according to the company. ?
Rs 1.5k cr road projects on deck
India is home to several bad roads be it the metropolitans, the cities or the villages. Bad road conditions are nothing new to India and the problem is being addressed since the last 30 years. However, of lately, many road projects have been sanctioned by the government and are up for bidding.
UP expects Rs.42,000 cr investment Under the proposed
Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC), the Uttar Pradesh government is expecting Rs 42,000 crore investment into the state. In the state, almost 57 per cent of the EDFC measuring 1,049 km would traverse across 18 districts, bringing a lot of industrial benefits for the state. The government said that the proposed alignment of 1,840 km EDFC, starting from Punjab, traverses UP via Khurja and ends at Dankuni in West Bengal.
IWAI transport terminal ready at Kolkata port
A transport terminal of the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) at Garden Reach Jetty-2 in Kolkatta Port Trust is ready.
Kolkata being a transportation hub on the Ganga, the new terminal would serve Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and the North-Eastern Region.
Lucknow’s Lohia Path to become widest road in UP
In Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) is all set to give Lohia Path another face-lift by proposing an additional flyover between PICUP and Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. The State government has taken up widening of the Lohia Path, which is said to be the ruling party Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
No bidders for Agra-Lucknow Expressway
For the proposed 270-km expressway between Agra and Lucknow no road developers have come forward. The Expressway project is a pet project of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. The proposed express way is an eight-lane Greenfield project.
