TN gets World Bank’s aid for road project
For the second phase of Tamil Nadu Road Sector Project, the State government has obtained approval of the World Bank and the Central government, said Finance Minister O Panneerselvam, while presenting the State budget for 2013-14 in Chennai on March 21. Under this project, a total of 1,678 km of roads will be strengthened and widened.
Cuttack-Chandbali h’way project in Odisha to take off now
Work on the much delayed Cuttack-Chandbali State highway expansion project in Odisha is all set to take off. The road project has been funded by the World Bank. The 106-km long and Rs 800 crore worth highway expansion project mooted in 2006 had failed to make a headway due to land acquisition problems.

The Kerala government has entered into an agreement with the World Bank where they have granted Rs 1,166 crore to the State road development programme. The State PWD Minister VK Ebrahim Kunju informed that out of the total Rs 2,403 crore, the World Bank has sanctioned almost half.
