The Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik met M. Venkaiah Naidu, the Union Minister of Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (HUPA) and Parliamentary Affairs in New Delhi on June 3, 2014. Senior officers including Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development and Secretary, HUPA as well as officials of Odisha Government were also present at the meeting. Both sides reviewed the implementation of the urban development projects in Odisha especially those funded out of Central funds of the Urban Renewal Mission. M. Venkaiah Naidu assured the Chief Minister all possible help and cooperation of his ministry in the implementation of the projects. The Minister also mentioned that any pending release of funds to the State will be expedited.
