The commencement of construction work at the Worli-Haji Ali sea link is slated to begin by the end of February 2011 as against December 25, as expected earlier. The joint venture between RInfra and Hyundai Engineering, Reliance Sealink One was given the mandate to start construction of the Worli-Haji Ali part of the sea link by early 2011. The consortium has asked for clearances from the environmental and forest departments and the Ministry of Urban Infrastructure and has decided not to start work before it get all the necessary clearances.
According to a company spokesperson it has completed all the necessary activities with the project lenders for financial closure and is ready to fund the project in entirety. Further, there are various prerequisites that are being worked out between MSRDC and RInfra.
