Gujarat government seeks to gain technical and management expertise from international port authorities and port operators during the upcoming investment summit, Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit, 2013.
Key international port players like Israel Ports Company and Port of Antwerp would reportedly share technical and management expertise with private port operators in the state.
The international port operators and authorities may share their expertise to handle large-sized and complex vessels at the ports. Also, they will interact with entrepreneurs and state officials to bring improvement in the management and operations of ports and port traffic, reports indicate.
Ports in Gujarat would also seek knowledge on sustainability of ports and shipping sector in the state.
The government also aims to attract fresh investments in the ports sector through this summit.
According to government sources, the summit would be attended by representatives of Israel Ports Company, Port of Antwerp, Port of Rotterdam and those from port authorities of Russia and US.
The officials from these port authorities will showcase strengths of their port facilities and interact with industry and entrepreneurs.
