In Kerala’s Kottayam district, the combined bypass road that connects MC road at Thiruvalla to KK Road in Manarcad will soon be a reality. The tendering process for upgrading the existing road is complete, said Jose K Mani MP on February 4. A fund of Rs 20 crore has been allotted by the Centre for the purpose from the Central Road fund, said Mani.
The 26 km long road will bypass the busy towns of Changanassery and Kottayam. The road passes via Puthupally, Vakathanam, Thengana and Nalukody and will be highly convenient for those travelling to Ettumanoor, Pala, Thodupuzha and Erattupetta. The bypass will be renovated in the most modern way with traffic lights at the junctions.
Mani added that work on the bypass will start soon.
