As part of its strategy to expand service offering to Indian traders, shipping firm Hanjin Shipping India decided to launch an additional service, jointly with Simatech and Evergreen,
from Mundra Port to East Africa.
The new service, which is intended to offer Indian customers a reliable, direct sailing to East Africa, will operate four 1,800 Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit (TEU) vessels.
The service from Mundra Port to East Africa would call at Karachi, Jebel Ali, Mombassa and Dar es Salaam ports.
HJ Chai, Managing Director of Hanjin India said shipment from North India and surrounding Inland Container Depot (ICD) will be railed to Mundra while Nhava Sheva will connect in Karachi.
This service would offer fast transit times of 12 days from Mundra to Mombassa and 16 days from Mundra to Dar es Salaam.
