State-run power producer NTPC added 4,170 mw of generation capacity during 2012-13 surpassing its earlier best capacity addition of 2,820 mw in 2011-12.
The company currently has an installed capacity of 41,184 mw through 16 coal based, two solar renewable, seven gas or liquid fuel and seven Joint Venture power stations.
The largest power producer in India released its Sustainability Report “Powering with care…” in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3.0 guidelines.
The report highlights key challenges and opportunities in power sector, NTPCÂ’s strengths and strategies to meet these challenges, among other things. Other aspects under Economic, Environment and Social performance indicators have also been included.
The report also shows the firm’s step towards sustaining greener environment, conserving natural resources such as energy, water etc. The report also mentions its commitment towards Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility.
