In Kerala, the Vyttila Mobility Hub is just two km away from Eroor but the residents here have to travel approximately 20 kilometres to reach the hub. According to the residents, they are unable to use the Kaniyampuzha road, the two km stretch that connects Eroor and Vyttila, as it is narrow and unsuitable for vehicular traffic. Though the residents have demanded widening of road to reduce the traffic woes, the Tripunithura Municipal authorities said the proposal is pending before the State Government.
And, the residents have planned protest measures against the inaction of authorities. The Hub is just two km away from Eroor via the Kanniyampuzha Road. The residents can use the road to reach the Hub instead of taking the traffic-congested route through Tripunithura, said, VP Prasad, Chairman, Tripunithura Rajanagari Union of Residents Association (TRURA).
Earlier, many private buses had avoided the route owing to the continuous traffic blocks along the stretch. Widening the road can solve the issue. The road should be connected with the Seaport-Airport Road, thus bringing down the traffic from Nedumbassery to Muvattupuzha, said the Eroor area residents. The residents in Eroor have demanded widening of RAC road connecting Vyttila Mobility Hub to Vyttila railway over-bridge.
If the RAC road is widened, commuters can easily reach Kaloor-Kadavanthra junction and Thammanam route without waiting at Vyttila signal, the residents said.
