In Hyderabad, the Lokayukta has registered a case against Serilingampally MLA Bikshapathi Yadav and GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu in connection with a road widening project from Botanical Gardens in Kondapur to the Old Bombay Highway. The case has been registered following a complaint filed by residents of Masid Banda village. According to the complaint, the widening will lead to encroachment upon reserve forest land and a water body.

The existing 40-foot road, as per a government plan, will be extended to 120 feet. The road widening project will stretch from Kothaguda to HCU Depot, passing through Kothaguda Reserve Forest, a water body and Masid Banda village. Residents have claimed that the MLA has given the land for development to a real estate company, which plans to construct a 40 floor-plus apartment complex.

They have also mentioned in the complaint that there is no need to widen this road as there is another 120-ft road parallel to it.
