For various development works in Bhutan, Indian government will provide funds worth Rs 1.5 billion to Bhutanese government. Bhutan’s economic body Gross National Happiness Commission on November 13 signed 10 cheques of Rs 1.5 billion with Indian government officials.
According to a release from the Commission, the amount comprised funds due for works completed under Bhutan’s 10th five-year plan.
This leaves another Rs 1.5 billion to be received from India under the 10th plan covering around 95 per cent of the total commitment made under the plan.
