The process is to begin shortly to construct an elevated road connecting Bandra-Kurla Complex and Eastern Express Highway in Mumbai. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) said that in another month or so they will commence the process of inviting bids to construct the bridge linking the Eastern Express Highway and LBS Road to Bandra-Kurla Complex, the key business district of Mumbai.
The elevated road was planned in 2008, but delayed since then. Then the estimated cost of the project stood at Rs 125 crore, which now stands at Rs 300 crore, sources said. Quite similar to the Bandra Worli Sea Link, the bridge will be a cable-stayed one.
