Somesh Dasgupta is President (Corporate Affairs & Admin) with India Power Corporation Ltd. A highly motivated and seasoned professional, Dasgupta has vast expertise in Human Resource Management and Personnel Management. He was heading the HR, IR and Administration of India Power Limited and the associate companies in the past. Dasgupta is currently looking after Corporate Affairs of the company.

He has expertise in various areas like HR Consulting, formulation and implementation of Quality Circles, concept of TQM and revised policy structure. Dasgupta joined India Power Limited as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in November, 1988 and has been with the organisation for 27 years till date.

He is the National Vice President of National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), National Council since 2010 – 2012 and also Chairman of NIPM, Kolkata Chapter, from 2008-2012.

Dasgupta is also Chairperson of Human Resources, Industrial Relations & Productivity Council/Employer Federation of India (ER). He is a Member of Central Board of Workers Education (CBWE), Government of India. Dasgupta is also a member of State Labour Advisory Board, Labour Welfare Board, Minimum Wages Advisory Board of Government of West Bengal, as representative of Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). He is responsible for Corporate Affairs and Administration.

Dasgupta has a B.E.(Mechanical) from North Bengal University, M.I.E. from Institute of Engineers, a PGDBM in HRD from IIT (Kharagpur) and a Certificate in TQM from BITS (Sweden).
