The Centre has in principle agreed to include power-starved Telangana in the Power For All (PFA) scheme, which means 24×7 power supply to the state, that will take two years to implement (i.e.2017-18), state government sources said. The State Government had asked the Centre to supply uninterrupted power to tackle problems arising out of bifurcation and had appealed to be included in the PFA scheme so that the new state could grow at a faster pace. An 11-member committee headed by Jyothy Arora, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, met Telangana state officials in Hyderabad and discussed some vital issues. The panel had officials of the Central Electricity Authority as well, giving credence to reports that controversial power issues after the bifurcation were also discussed.
