Railways has carried 182.72 million tonnes (MnT) of revenue earning freight traffic during April-May, 2015. The freight carried shows an increase of 2.20 MnT over the freight traffic of 180.52 MnT actually carried during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 1.22 per cent. During the month of May, the freight traffic carried by Indian Railways was 92.91 MnT. There is an increase of 1.19 MnT over the actual freight traffic of 91.72 MnT carried by the Indian Railways during the same period last year, showing an increase of 1.30 per cent.
