After years of speculation, construction of Namma Metro project under phase II on Mysore Road is underway. The contractor of the project awarded by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has started work.
The work started in two places identified by BMRCL for construction of the metro station- one at the entry point to Bangalore University off Mysore Road and the second at Rajarajeshwari metro station. A BMRCL official said that the work is taking place on land handed over by authorities of Bangalore University and Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB). Both the institutions have given close to six acre for the project
