The Finance Ministry may come to the rescue of India´s ailing airline industry. Noting that airlines are among the biggest loss-making entities in aviation sector here, Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha will have a meeting with all carriers to discuss their woes. The meeting assumes significance as the airline industry is increasingly looking at the PMO and the Finance Ministry for resolution of their long-pending grievances. “We met Jayant Sinha recently and he was concerned over the financial condition of Indian airlines. Sinha told us that he would soon convene a meeting with all airlines, a senior official of a leading airline.
