The Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited´s (Mahagenco) Koradi Thermal Power Expansion Project has witnessed massive cost escalation due to inordinate delay in completion. Project cost has shot up by over Rs.1,500 crore that will ultimately result as a burden on hapless power consumers.
Shockingly, the state is yet to release its share of 20 per cent of the total cost despite this having been approved seven years ago.
