The annual fest if NIT is around the corner and all civil engineering enthusiasts can brace themselves for the big event.
Pragyan is the annual techno- management fest of National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. Despite its humble inception in the year 2005, Pragyan today stands tall as a leading, internationally acclaimed collegiate festival with two ISO Certifications namely ISO 9001 & 20121:2012. Every year, Pragyan witnesses an impressive footfall of several thousands from across the nation. The events conducted cover various genres of engineering and management, judged by renowned specialists. Supported by a myriad of brands, the awards and prize money given away are major enticements. The workshops serve the perfect platform to master a skill right from the experts. The sangams and exhibitions serve the perfect store house of skills and inventions.
However, the biggest events of Pragyan are the Crossfire and the guest lectures, which witness the intelligentsia interacting directly with the student fraternity. This edition of Pragyan will be held from the 25th-28th of February, 2016.
Mortar Master is a highlight event, conducted every year by Pragyan to specially draw the attention of the civil engineering students. The objective of this event is to design and produce concrete blocks of the least weight for a specified strength and size. Essentially, this event requires an incredible passion for experimenting with concrete and an impeccable attention to detail. The teams with the perfect concrete mix and the finest finish ace this contest. This event will be held in two rounds- one at the student´s home institution and the other at NIT Trichy. Both the rounds test the teams´ efficiency in engineering the perfect concrete block.
