BHEL bags order for 800MW power plant in TN

BHEL has bagged an order from the TN government to set up the state´s first 800 MW thermal power plant. The North Chennai Supercritical TPS Stage III is located in Thiruvallur district. The letter of award for the project was handed by CM Jayalalithaa to Atul Sobti, Chairman & MD, BHEL. The contract placed by TN Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) is estimated at Rs.2,759 crore. The project is to be commissioned by August, 2019. The key equipment for the project will be manufactured at BHEL´s Trichy, Haridwar, Bhopal, Ranipet, Hyderabad, Jhansi and Bangalore units. The company´s Power Sector, southern region will be responsible for civil works and commissioning of equipment.
