Allcargo Logistics Limited, an integrated logistics solutions provider, has collaborated with CONCOR (Container Corporation of India), a Navratna company of the Government of India to provide better transport solutions for its customers. This partnership entails Allcargo to transport its containers on CONCOR rakes between JNPT (Navi Mumbai) to TIHI (Indore). The initiative has the objective of promoting EXIM trade and providing better services to customers.
The two logistics players have come together to contribute to the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Ease of doing business’ by shifting emphasis from road to rail, thereby easing congestion and pressure on road transportation.
Transporting cargo through rail is safer, and best suited for carrying heavy cargo over long distance, leading to optimum utilisation of capital for trade. It also helps organisations earn their share of carbon credits, as railway transport causes less pollution compared to road transport.
Commenting on the partnership, Adarsh Hegde, Joint Managing Director, Allcargo Logistics Limited, said, (The) partnership with CONCOR will ensure safe and faster transportation of containers, thereby enhancing our service offerings to customers by road and rail for EXIM trade.”
