TUSCO Limited has signed an advisory mandate with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for developing 600 MW solar power projects in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district.
IFC will provide support to TUSCO for the development of solar power projects of 600 MW in the Jhansi district, Uttar Pradesh based on a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The solar projects will be established under the Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park (UMREPP) program by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
The development of the solar projects shall contribute to the Indian Government’s clean energy program for the installation of 450 GW of renewable energy by the year 2030. TUSCO is a joint venture between THDC India Limited (THDCIL) and Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).
The representatives of Siemens Mobility and Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) have signed a lease contract for a hydrogen-powered train for Bavaria. The latest generation train set which will be a two-car train powered by hydrogen will be presented to the public in the spring of 2022. The train testing will be done on the Augsburg-Füssen route in the mid-2023.
Pilot operations in Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) rail network are initially planned for 30 months. It is expected that the train will officially enter passenger service in January 2024. The roof-mounted fuel cells are the hydrogen traction drive’s main component. The system further includes the latest generation of underfloor batteries that are supplied by Saft, the battery specialist.
