India’s largest airline boosts non-stop connectivity from Delhi and Mumbai using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

IndiGo, India’s largest airline by marketshare and fleet size, is set to expand its long-haul footprint to the UK this winter, increasing frequencies on its direct routes to Manchester and London Heathrow from Delhi and Mumbai. The move follows strong booking momentum and growing demand for travel between India and the UK.

IndiGo’s service between Mumbai and Manchester, which marked the airline’s long-haul debut on July 1, will now operate four times a week starting 17 November, up from the current three. Meanwhile, the newly announced Delhi-Manchester route, launching on November 15, will increase from four to five weekly flights from day one. Together, these additions represent a 28 per cent increase in non-stop capacity between India and Manchester.

The airline will operate all UK-bound flights using its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, offering enhanced comfort, efficiency and reliability for long-haul travel. These aircraft feature upgraded cabin interiors and are part of IndiGo’s broader strategy to connect India to key global destinations with affordable fares and seamless service.

IndiGo also recently announced the launch of daily direct flights between Mumbai and London Heathrow, effective October 26. The UK-India corridor remains a high-potential market, driven by strong economic ties and a growing Indian diaspora. Demand continues to rise from corporate travellers, tourists, students and those visiting friends and family.
