ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee have signed a MoU to collaborate across education, research, innovation, and industry engagement. The partnership combines the industrial expertise and global manufacturing footprint of AM/NS India with the academic and research excellence of IIT Roorkee to advance talent development, applied research, technology innovation, and industrial competitiveness.
AM/NS India is a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, two of the worldâs leading steelmakers, while IIT Roorkee is Indiaâs oldest engineering institution.
Under the MoU framework, the partners will pursue opportunities in joint academic programmes, executive education, professional development courses, and workforce transformation initiatives. The collaboration also extends to industryâfocused consulting, technical advisory services, problemâsolving engagements, technology assessments, and joint research leading to publications, intellectual property creation, and technology transfer.
AM/NS India will leverage NAMTECH, its industryâintegrated education initiative, as a platform to deliver on the partnershipâs objectives. NAMTECH bridges academia and industry through experiential learning, industryâled curricula, and realâworld problem solving, creating futureâready talent and accelerating the translation of research into industrial impact.
