Kerala government received a request from the Alwaye Development Area Industrial Association (ADAIA) to take steps to end the ongoing labour strike at the Vallarpadam Container Terminal.
The trailer crew in the terminal are holding strike for the second time demanding wage hike and other facilities.
As numerous small-scale industries depend on the terminal for export and import of goods, the losses incurred because of the strike were huge, the association pointed out.
ADAIA also requested the state government to include the Vallarpadam Container Terminal and allied services under necessary services.
