The third phase of the Delhi Metro project progresses well with the completion of the first tunnelling project at the upcoming Janpath Metro station. The tunnelling was done almost 18 m below the earth’s surface and the excavated earth was deposited at the Sarita Vihar Depot and forest land. The station is expected to reduce pressure on Rajiv Chowk, which handles more than five lakh people a day.
