International apparel brands have shown their interests in using Vallarpadam Terminal for their export consolidation. Apparel brand Diesel having its vendor base in Tirupur and Bengaluru has already started utilising the International Container Transhipment Terminal (ICTT) for export requirements to Europe. Following this, many well-known brands are also interested in utilizing Vallarpadam facility for exports, leading to substantial transit time, cost savings for them. Earlier, they operated through Chennai and Tuticorin ports. The facility has container freight stations in its vicinity, providing essential services like abelling, bar coding, etc for garment businesses.
