Kerala Government proposes to set up a 1,200 MW gas-based thermal power station at Cheemeni in Kasaragod district with an estimated cost of Rs 4,500 crore. Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister of Kerala, said a detailed project report for the project has been prepared and the clearances were being obtained to finalise the developers by the beginning of 2012.
