Marcel Opitz, Director of Sales, Schenker India Private Limited holds more than 16 years of experience in the global logistics market and seven years in the logistics industry in Asia.
He has held various roles in DB Schenker since the year 2000. Before taking up his current role in India, he held the position of Director, Vertical Market Semicon /Solar for two years. Prior to his joining the group, he has also been the global account manager in a company where he was responsible for developing a global strategy & budget plan in sync with regions/countries, manifested in regional roadmaps. Marcel brings with him years of global experience particularly in emerging markets, which definitely makes him a key asset for DB Schenker in India. He is responsible for further strengthening DB Schenker sales and drive ahead the sales and key account strategy in India. His other attributes include promoting corporate initiatives and encouraging change management.
He also believes in anticipating trends and keeping abreast of the semicon/solar industry knowledge to formulate targets and focus areas within APAC.
In this cut throat competition it is very important to establish close relationship and credibility with clients, participate in regular business reviews and negotiations as per his say.
