Punjab government releases Rs 5.75 billion for development projects

Of the Rs 5.75 billion released by the Punjab Government, Rs 1.25 billion was given to the department of local government and Rs 500 million and Rs 2 billion was released for governance reforms and retrial benefits, respectively. An amount of Rs 2 billion is given against power subsidy. The funds that are released for governance reforms departments would be utilised to provide citizen centric services to the people in a time-bound manner. The local government is also said to spend the money to provide civic amenities under the urban development projects.
