In Rajasthan, the State Public Works Department (PWD) has decided to form flying squads to inspect the quality of road works in the state. A total of 10 flying squads will be formed. These teams will check to conform the roads made as per the norms laid down for quality control.

The PWD’s move comes following public complaints about the poor quality of road works in the state. The PWD officials informed these 10 teams will be formed in Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Bhilwara, while one team will also check the quality of construction done by Rajasthan State Road Development and Construction Corporation Ltd (RSRDC).

Action will be taken against the contractor concerned for construction of those roads, the quality of which, does not meet the norms set by the PWD, the government said.
