REC Posts Record ₹162.8 Billion Profit, Declares Highest Dividend

The company’s net worth strengthened to ₹842.9 billion by March 31, 2026, compared with ₹776.4 billion a year earlier, reflecting a 9 per cent rise.

Despite global macroeconomic headwinds and geopolitical uncertainty, REC Ltd has reported its highest‑ever annual net profit of ₹162.8 billion for the financial year ended March 31, 2026. The state‑run financier also declared a total dividend of ₹18.55 per share, the highest in its history.

REC’s loan sanctions rose sharply to ₹4,09 trillion, a 21 per cent increase from ₹3.37 trillion in the previous year. Disbursements climbed to ₹2.11 trillion, up 10 per cent year‑on‑year, while disbursements excluding RBPF surged 28% to ₹1.46 trillion.

The company’s net worth strengthened to ₹842.9 billion as of March 31, 2026, compared with ₹776.4 billion a year earlier, reflecting a 9 per cent rise. Its capital adequacy ratio stood at a healthy 23.11 per cent, highlighting ample headroom to support future growth. Profitability metrics remained robust, with an interest spread of 2.62 per cent and net interest margin (NIM) of 3.43 per cent. Earnings per share (EPS) rose to ₹61.71, highlighting strong shareholder returns.

Continuing its tradition of rewarding investors, REC’s board announced a final dividend of ₹1.55 per equity share. With this, the total dividend for FY2025‑26 amounts to ₹18.55 per share, marking the highest payout in the company’s history.

REC has consistently demonstrated operational excellence, securing an ‘Excellent’ rating in its MoU performance for three consecutive years (FY2023-25). The company also advanced four places in the Department of Public Enterprises’ profitability rankings, moving from ninth to fifth among central public sector enterprises (CPSEs). In January 2026, its Maharatna status was reaffirmed, reflecting its strong business fundamentals and growth outlook.

The company has also integrated ESG principles across its operations, with a particular focus on expanding its renewable energy portfolio. This commitment has been recognised by the NSE ESG Ratings, where REC achieved the highest rating among all companies assessed nationwide.
