The successful bidders, chosen through tariff‑based competitive bidding, will develop the projects on a BOOT basis.
REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of power financier REC Ltd, handed over two project‑specific special purpose vehicles (SPVs) for inter‑state transmission projects to the respective successful bidders on July 29.
The SPVs transferred were Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission Ltd to Power Grid Corp. of India Ltd, and Shongtong Power Transmission Ltd to Terralight Solar Energy Tinwari Pvt. Ltd. Both bidders were selected through a tariff‑based competitive bidding process conducted by RECPDCL as the bid process coordinator. The projects will be developed on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.
The Bhadla Ramgarh project broadly envisages the augmentation of the 400/220 kV Bhadla‑III Pooling Station, 765/400 kV Ramgarh Pooling Station and 765/400 kV Kanpur Pooling Station, along with associated works. It is scheduled for implementation by January 20, 2029, at an estimated cost of ₹10.35 billion.
The Shongtong project involves the establishment of a 400/220 kV GIS Jhangi Pooling Station in Himachal Pradesh, a 400 kV Jhangi Pooling Station to Wangtoo double‑circuit line of 50 km, and a 400 kV Panchkula to Wangtoo line of 175 km, along with other associated works. It is scheduled for completion within 30 months at an estimated cost of ₹22.86 billion.
