In keeping with its commitment to become the leading renewable energy producer in India, ReNew Wind Power, an independent power producer, commissioned its first wind farm project at Jasdan, Rajkot district, Gujarat. Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi inaugurated the 25.2 MW wind farm at Jasdan. This facility comprises 12 units of Suzlon S88 wind turbines with 2.1 mw capacity each. Construction of the pro­ject began in October 2011 and was completed in March 2012. The project is selling its output under a under long-term PPA contract to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (23.1 mw), and the remaining output to Philips India (2.1 mw).

ReNew Power was founded with a vision to help India meet its renewable energy tar­gets. To achieve these targets, ReNew Power is working closely with key players like Suzlon, Regen, Gamesa, Vestas and Enercon India amon­gst others. Currently, ReNew Power has several wind projects under development as well.
