In a press release, Shiv-Vani Oil and Gas Exploration Services clarified that ONGC cancelled the process of banning its contract as the latter is satisfied with the former’s performance at the site the Kakinada processing facility.

It may be noted that there were rumours that ONGC banned the contract given to Shiv-Vani Oil and Gas to install and operate one compressor along with one stand-by compressor at Kakinada.

Shiv-Vani was expected to mobilise the compressor within 45 days from the date of order or before September 26, 2012.

Although the firm mobilised two compressors with engines on allocated site on time, it could not install it because of the force majeure reasons beyond its control, the press release said.

The release also said that ONGC was satisfied with the explanations furnished by Shiv-Vani and hence the process of banning Shiv-Vani initiated by ONGC on grounds of alleged failure to commence services in installation of compressors has now been called off.

ONGC is satisfied with Shiv-VaniÂ’s performance at the site, adds the release.

Through the release, Shiv-Vani said it has been the preferred exploration partner of oil and gas majors in India and the Gulf since 1989.
