The Solid Waste Management Corporation Bill has been put up for approval of the Cabinet, Minister for Science and Technology Alina Saldanha has told the Goa Legislative Assembly. Goa´s first modern garbage treatment plant located at Saligao in North Goa was commissioned a few months ago. The department of science, technology and environment has commenced having meetings with various panchayats in North Goa along with officials of Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) to ensure collection and transportation to waste treatment plant.
