This is Gurugram‑based Sunsure’s third order with Suzlon in under 14 months, lifting their cumulative partnership to 400.8 MW.
Within two weeks of launching the S175 (5.0 MW)—India’s tallest and most powerful wind turbine—Suzlon has secured its first 105 MW order for the next‑generation model from Sunsure Energy. The order marks a strong commercial debut for the S175, the Pune‑headquartered full‑stack renewable energy solutions company said in a statement on Tuesday.
This is also Gurugram‑based Sunsure’s third order with Suzlon in less than 14 months, taking their cumulative partnership to 400.8 MW.
Powered by a 175‑metre rotor and a 160‑metre hybrid lattice tower, the S175 is designed to tap stronger and more stable wind regimes, enabling higher energy yields and improved project economics. It opens new wind frontiers by converting previously unviable sites into commercially attractive opportunities, significantly expanding India’s wind energy potential.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, said, “Sunsure began their wind energy journey with us and has now grown into one of India’s largest and fastest‑growing C&I‑focused renewable energy providers. We are proud to support their growth as our partnership deepens across geographies—from Karnataka to now two orders in Maharashtra—and across technology platforms, from our maiden 2.1 MW projects to scaling on our 3 MW platform, and now becoming the launch customer for our next‑generation 5 MW S175 turbine.”
Manish Mehta, Co‑Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Sunsure Energy, said, “Our strategy is centred on meeting the need for firm, reliable clean energy driven by India’s accelerated electrification and expanding manufacturing footprint powered by data centres, GCCs, advanced manufacturing, and electric mobility. This order is a precise strategic choice; the S175 is purpose‑built for firm and dispatchable power, enabling seamless integration into hybrid and round‑the‑clock solutions.”
Ajay Kapur, CEO, Suzlon Group, added, “I am confident that this project will become a case study in effective energy generation and project economics. Developing 400.8 MW with Sunsure Energy in just 14 months reflects not only the pace at which India’s C&I renewable market is scaling, but also the deep trust our customers place in Suzlon’s technology, execution, and innovation.”
As an independent power producer (IPP), Sunsure Energy is among India’s leading renewable energy solutions providers for businesses and utilities. The current project scope includes the supply, erection, commissioning, and maintenance of 21 next‑generation S175 wind turbine generators (WTGs) to be installed in Bijapur, Karnataka, by Suzlon.
