Highway soon to link India, Myanmar, Thailand
For smoother and faster movement of goods between India, Myanmar and Thailand a proposed highway is expected to be opened soon for traffic, the Union Government has announced. The Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said adding that the Indian government is presently working with the governments of Myanmar and Thailand.
Trilateral h’way of India, Myanmar, Thailand by 2015-16
India's Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said on June 6 that the proposed trilateral highway covering India, Myanmar and Thailand is expected to be operational by 2015-16. Leading a business delegation, Sharma was in Naypyitaw to attend the World Economic Forum on East Asia 2013.

Centre announces 3rd manufacturing zone for AP
The Union government on May 25 promised to approve a third National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) for Andhra Pradesh. The Centre has already approved the establishment of 12 NIMZs in the country - eight on the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, two in AP and one each in Karnataka and Maharashtra, said the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma.
Etihad, Jet Airways yet to approach govt for deal
Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma on March 14 said neither Jet Airways nor Etihad Airways has approached the government with a formal investment proposal. Sharma said that the government has so far not received a formal proposal from Etihad for investing in Jet Airways. Jet has been in talks with Etihad to sell 24 per cent stake for the past few months for around $300 million.
