Aviation Minister unveils airport at Bhatinda

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju and Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha have inaugurated the first ever airport in Bathinda at Virk Kalan village. Boarding the first flight from Delhi to Bhatinda, Gajapati Raju, Sinha and Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal were among the dignitaries who landed here.

Airports Authority of India launches a cargo subsidiary

State-owned airports operator Airports Authority of India (AAI) has launched a cargo subsidiary.
The company, to be called AAI Cargo logistics and Allied Services Company Ltd, will be 100 per cent owned by AAI. It will have an equity base of Rs 20 crore and staff strength of 60 people to begin with.

Govt to relook airport privatisation plan

The Union government is to relook the process of privatisation of six major airports started by the previous government. Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju has suggested fresh broad-based consultations between the Centre
