In Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to build four bridges and revamp eight. While some in eastern suburbs will be newly built, others in the city will be rebuilt. In the island city, while the junction between Sion-Bandra Link Road and Saint Rohidas Marg, Mahim Causeway above Mithi River and near Mithi river in Dharavi will be revamped, a new flyover is being planned to connect Senapati Bapat Marg and Western Express Highway.

BMC’s plan to let locals park on one side of road
A new parking policy for Mumbai is being brought out by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) under which BMC plans to give permits to local residents to park vehicles on road. The BMC is compiling a list of roads where residents can park vehicles on one side of the road. They will then be given annual permits allowing them to park their cars there; no other vehicle can park on these roads. Collapsed Sion-Dharavi bridge to be reconstructed soon
The collapsed Sion-Dharavi-Mahim bridge in Mumbai will be rebuilt by the the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) at a cost of Rs 11 crore. The collapsed in 2011. Officials said work will begin after the monsoon.
The bridge that is to connect Tulsi Pipe Road to Bandra (E) junction will be tabled during the civic standing committee next week.
Rs 1,200 cr for Mumbai’s road reconstruction
This year, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will reconstruct roads in the city at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore. It will invite tenders soon for the same. The civic body has allotted Rs 900 crore to reconstruct major roads and Rs 300 crore for minor roads. In a move to fix responsibility, BMC has appointed one engineer for each road.
Mumbai civic body to identify new roads in bad shape

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation standing committee has awarded road construction and repair contracts worth around Rs 620 crore on February 25. Interestingly, the biggest contract - worth Rs 181 crore - was awarded to a firm called RPS Infra Projects, which has been blacklisted by BMCÂ’s buildings department for allegedly submitting fake bills in aproject around a year ago.
