Bengal Aerotropolis Projects (BAPL) has said that flight operations at the proposed Andal airport would begin on April 15, 2014. BAPL, a joint venture between Changi Airports International (26 per cent) and four Indian companies is the promoter of BengalĂâs first private airport near the Durgapur-Asansol industrial area.

West Bengal’s 1st pvt airport to take off by April
The first private airport of West Bengal is expected to be operational at Durgapur Ăâ approximately 200 km south of Kolkata by March-April next year. The airport is being developed by Bengal Aerotropolis (BAPL), a venture involving four Indian companies and the Singapore-based Changi Airports International.
