NSICT handles longest vessel at JNPT
DP World's Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT) has set a new benchmark by handling the MSC Susanna, the longest ship ever to berth at JNPT. The vessel is deployed on the Mediterranean Shipping Company's ISES service bound for Europe.
Seven firms qualify for Rs 8,000-cr JNPT terminal bid
In bidding for the Rs 8,000-crore fourth container terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, the Essar Ports has failed to qualify as it fell short of the value of work done in the past to meet the criteria. Sources said that Essar Ports has not been qualified for the terminal project as per the Central Vigilance Commission set guidelines.
Vizag port to get Rs 633 cr container terminal
Visakhapatnam Port has revised plans to finalise bids for extension of the existing container terminal at a cost of Rs 633 crore.
After scrapping the Letter of Award issued to Visakha Container Terminal to extend existing terminal following serious differences over sharing of revenue, the board of trustee of the port decided at its recent meeting to issue Request for Proposals (RFP) among seven firms who were declared qualified.
Chennai Port: 9 parties keen to turn coal berths into containers
Nine parties have expressed their interest to convert Chennai Port's existing three coal berths at Jawahar Dock (East) into a container terminal. Five parties of the nine have expressed keen interest to develop container terminal and four parties for modernising the terminal. KPT to invest Rs 6,000 cr
Kandla Port Trust (KPT) plans to set up a container terminal at a cost of Rs 5,992 crore. The terminal, which will come up at Tuna-Tekra in the Gulf-of- Kutch outside Kandla Creek, will be capable of handling container vessels up to 18,000 TEUs.
