The Gopalpur Port is likely to restart operations from August 30, said Commerce and Transport Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi. The port was closed after cyclone Phailin which struck Odisha coast on October 12, 2013.

Port in Gopalpur suffers heavy losses
The recent cyclone Phailin has hit a severe blow to the upcoming all-weather port in Gopalpur in Odisha. The port is promised to change the face of this coastal town in southern Odisha, but the Phailin has damaged it a lot.
Railways, ports resume functioning in Odisha
As the cyclone Phailin has crossed Odisha,
railways and port operations in the state have been resumed in the coastal areas of the state on October 13. East Coast Railways, which resumed most of the train services after a gap of two days, will shortly restart freight loading operations as well.
Flight operations resumed to Bhubaneswar
Jet Airways has stated that its services to Bhubaneswar and Ranchi have been disrupted due to Cyclone Phailin, say reports from Delhi.
