The Karnataka government will spend Rs 1,000 crore on repairing the rain-damaged State highways and district roads in the state. About 177 km of State highway and 1,000 km of district roads have been damaged due to the last monsoon rains, say media reports.

Haryana emphasises on roads strengthening
The Haryana government is mulling on strengthening all national and State highways, district roads and roads connecting five or more villages. While stating this in Kaithal on March 17, Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala said as part of the efforts Kotputli-Rewari-Dadri-Bhiwani Corridor costing Rs 1,350 crore is being constructed.
Expansion of inter-village roads begins in Manipur
In Manipur, expansion of inter-village roads (IVRs) and district roads passing through Andro Assembly Constituency has kick-started from March 2 under the supervision local MLA Th Shyamkumar. It is said that all IVRs would be expanded up to 20 feet and district roads passing through the Assembly segment up to 60 feet. The road expansion has been taken up in view of the population growth.
