The Ministry of Power has submitted its views on the recently approved price formula for domestic gas, saying that a base price beyond 5$/mmbtu will be unviable for the power sector in the present context, said Minister of State for Power Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in a written reply in the Lok Sabha recently.

Gas production down for 14th straight month
The domestic gas production stood down for the 14th straight month in January due to the continuous drop in Reliance Industries-operated Krishna Godavari Basin D6 block output.The output fell by 8.9 percent year-on-year at 3.963 billion cu m. Reliance Industries has told the government that natural gas production at the producing fields in the bloĆĀck was likely to fall.
